A shared recipe organizer for couples and families
By Saverio Mazza ·
Memotaste lets you invite another person to your household to manage recipes, meal planning and groceries together. Everyone uses their own account, so you do not need to share a password. The Free plan includes two people; preferences stay personal and become visible to other members only when you choose to share them.
Steps
- 1
Invite the person you cook with
Open the household section in Profile and create an invitation. Send the link to the person you want to invite; they sign in with their own account and accept it. The invitation joins a shared space, not the inviter's personal profile.
- 2
Keep personal and shared collections distinct
Both members can add and edit recipes in the household. Do not assume existing personal recipes have moved automatically: use the recipe collection's tools to bring the recipes you want into the shared space. Check which collection you are working in.
- 3
Choose which preferences to make visible
In Preferences you can edit your own choices and view those of members who have enabled sharing. Other people's preferences are read-only. You can withdraw visibility without leaving the household; joining does not itself give permission to share these details.

Coordinate meals and groceries
Add shared recipes to the meal plan and open the ingredient list for upcoming meals within the displayed date range. Mark ingredients you already have to see what is missing. Still check with everyone about their needs before cooking: a recipe organizer does not replace that conversation.
Common questions
- Do I have to give my partner my password?
- No. Each member uses their own sign-in. An invitation adds someone to the household while identities and profiles remain separate.
- Is the administrator the only person who can edit recipes?
- No. Members can work on shared recipes, meal plans and groceries. The administrator role concerns household management, not exclusive access to recipe editing.
- Are my allergies visible as soon as I join?
- No. Letting other members view your preferences requires an explicit sharing choice. You can change visibility in Preferences.
